However, I would strongly recommend that it be taken to a gunsmith to insure that it is indeed safe to shoot. I have not personally shot this firearm, however the mechanics (including the firing pin) appear to be in great condition. Military utilized this 520 platform and converted many of them to trench guns. This is one of the better examples of the Model 520 that I have seen over the years, as you may know the U.S. This item has some light pitting on the receiver in some spots as well as a small stress crack where the buttstock meets the receiver, otherwise this item is in great overall shape. The stock and forend of this firearm is in great shape with only a few minor dents and dings. I honestly cannot tell what is the original bluing and what is simply patina. This item features a low serial number and the “suicide style” safety located within the trigger guard. Model 520 pump action shotgun (20 inch barrel).
